Mr. C

Phew…This little guy was bit trickier…but mom warned me that he may be! He was not fussy, just not very willing to be naked. We tried and tried to get him asleep, I got this one image and that was it. Then I swaddled him and within seconds, he was out! While he was swaddled he slept great, I would unwrap him and he would wake, swaddle again…zzzz! It was so cute how immediate it was. My lesson learned is that some babies are just a little more modest and like to be swaddled. I think we still ended up with some great images for Mom & Dad.

All the way from Texas

I am a touch behind on my Sneak Peeks…ack! The holiday weekend backed me up just a bit. Be prepared for several posts in the next couple of days. With that said, if you are on the mailing list and did not intend to be, please feel free to remove yourself. Somehow when my new blog was installed and my lists were moved, two of my lists got mixed. I deleted as many as I thought were supposed to be off, but I just couldn’t remember all of them. I apologize if you are getting these and do not wish too.

And thank you for everyone that has sent me little emails and comments telling me how much you like getting my posts. I enjoy doing it, and it is a good way for us to stay in touch! I love comments on the blog…so leave them well you feel like it : )

Now…onto Texas! This is a sister and her family of another one of my clients. They had plans to visit family here in Virginia and asked me to do a session for them while they were in town and of course I was more than willing. Thank you for putting up with my ideas : )

happy birthday to me…and a gift for you!

Well, another year of age is upon me. Luckily it is not as depressing as I thought it would be when I was younger! I have a wondeful family, the best hubby, and a business that still makes me giddy like I am a little girl. What more can a girl ask for?

So in the thanks to all I have in my whopping (lol….you thought I was going to tell you my age) years, I want to give something back.

50% off Standard Session Fees ( $150)- until this Sunday June 1st. If you book a session and arrange payment for it by June 1st (sessions can be anytime this year) you will get 50% off the session fee. I am even going to extend this to people not on my mailing list. So if you have that friend that has been drooling over your pictures, or know someone that needs a session, now is the time to do it!

If you are not ready to book a date, you can get a gift card as well!! The gift cards are good for 1 year and for sessions only. And for a session of the equal or lesser value of $150. Or just stock pile several to give as gifts!

When you inquire please mention this blog post in order to get the discount!

And of course a post would not be a post without an image. This is a glimpse of the beautiful flowers a friend surprised me with this morning (before I showered) :). She will pay for that :)

buttercups*

Three weeks ago on an early Saturday morning, I pulled up to my daughters Horse Back riding lesson, only to see every field around me adorned with billions of delicious yellow buttercups. Immediately my photographers mind started dreaming. What, who and how the heck do I ask ever so nicely if I can come “play” in the buttercups? Well, I mustered up the courage and asked. YAY!!! I got an ok. I talked to one of my soon to be maternity clients and asked if she was interested, and she definitely was (and she is the only one out of 6 maternity clients that is having a girl too). So we scheduled, and it rained, scheduled the next week, rain AGAIN, rescheduled for the next day of sun shine (avoiding the weekends this time) and we finally had sun! That morning *fingers crossed* I emailed the owner of the horse farm to see if the buttercups were still there. Much to my surprise and delight…the were!

So we did a few of my studio style BW’s and then we went to frolic in the buttercups. And a few waits on passing clouds here and there…but it was so worth the rain delays and wait!
