sink + toddler + light + water

equal a stunning little mini session with my baby! My little guy screams his head off, liking you are burning his skin when you get him in the bath or shower. Yet we can take him to the pool, water park, outdoor hose, and he is fine. Gets his hair wet, water in face, etc….fine! We think we make a breakthrough and get him to the bath….screams bloody murder! So he goes a little while without a bath. We personally don’t like to torture him on a daily basis…and we pick our battles.

So this morning while I as doing the dishes I thought maybe it was just the location. So I cleaned the sink up really good and gave the old sink bath an attempt. Voila! We have success…no screaming, no crying, no clawing his way out. Just happy baby, bubbles, a cup and a clean little bum! Of course, me being me, I saw the light, the water, the wet little curls and had to get some images. Thankfully, I had not cleaned up my camera gear off the counter from Sunday’s shoot (much to hubby’s dismay, and request) that I was able to grab it and have a great little mini session with my baby. I am so glad I found a way to wash him that works and gives me stunning pictures.

Sunday Maternity

I met such a sweet couple on Sunday. And we are all anxiously waiting for their new little boy to arrive. And I want to thank them for putting up with my slightly scatter brained ways on Sunday. I had a wedding in Annapolis the day before that became well over a 12 hour work day for me, and I had felt like I ran a marathon Sunday morning. Thanks to you all!

Urban.Family.Love

A year ago I did pics for a band that practiced at my husbands studio Linear Sound. You can see them on the band’s website American Sly if you are curious. Even though that was a year ago and I have grown a ton as a photographer, I think they still turned out pretty good. Of course it is not too hard to photograph a few handsome guys!

Fast forward to a year later. The singer of the band contacted me and wanted a family session and a session to immortalize the love that his wife and him still have for each other after 10 years of marraige. I was so excited. Unfortunately in this day of age, this is a rare thing. When a couple are still madly in love after 10, 15, 20 years. The reason for my excitement is personal as well as photographically. I have been with my hubby for nearly 15 years, and I can say the same about us. People think we are weird…that is how uncommon it is. We touch, hand hold, hug, etc. We are together 24/7 since we both work at home, and he is my BFF and my soul mate. It was so refreshing to see them together, while shooting, because it reminded me so much of us.

Take that, and add in a munchkin and you have a beautiful family. They were so great too me, and I hope I did them justice in capturing what they wanted. There are plenty more kisses, hugs, and snuggles.

Senior Pricing…

Finally. So many have been asking and I finally took the time today to get my senior pricing done. The prices are not different from the regular prices. Just collections and products that fit Seniors and what they want. I will be updating the standard collections very soon. The fav’s are getting apparent, and I want to implement a session credit in them as well! That will be coming soon.

If you have a senior, know a senior, are a senior, and would like to see the new collections please comment or email me at martalocklear@yahoo.com and I will send it off to you. Thank you all for your patience. Sorry it took so long if you have been waiting! And of course a couple of my latest senior images…
