Ask any photographer what they would think about doing a family of 6, and most would start squirming in their seats. Then tell them that the 4 kids are all under the age of 6, and you would think the photographer had ants in their pants. Add in that 3 of them were boys and the only girl was the infant…swooosh…photographer ran for the hills! I say all of this extremely candidly. I have 3 of my own kids and two of them are boys, and both are under 6. So I have ALL the experience one needs in understanding just how cooperative this age group and gender can be :).
But, I put on my game face and went to the session prepared for the challenge. Just after I pulled up little boys began bounding out of the SUV, full of energy and being magnetically drawn to the lingering puddles from the rain the day before. They were adorable, and all put together…so far so good. So we gather everyone up and went on our way to truck around Chatham Manor for some family shots, and individuals of all the kiddos. With all my preconceptions in my head, I quickly had to throw them away, and shoot the rest of the 2 hours, impressed. These boys were great, and they each had their own little personality which is always so much fun to discover.
So, to all you photographers out there (I know you are there), you do not always have to fear the family of 6, or 4 kids under 6, or majority boys…it can happen that they are good (or well bribed :) ), and will do whatever you ask them too. These little guys behaved wonderfully, and wish they would come give my own kiddos some lessons in front of the camera! Oh, and little Miss here, was a real gem. She knew she was adorable and worked each of the gorgeous dresses she wore!
I am saving the group and family shots for mom. Never know what is one the holiday list this year…don’t want to spoil too much :). And to conclude….we had a little jumping challenge. It seems that they can jump the same height, and somebody never made it off the ground.
