Libby & Joe . Leesburg Horse Country Wedding

I always kid about the Weather Gods, or the Rain Gods. But on the day of Libby & Joe’s Wedding I think I actually started to believe in them. I knew Libby’s plan for the day included an open air late summer wedding under the stars and string light. The weather up until the wedding was supposed to be perfect. However, those plans changed and we were plagued with 100% chance of rain for the entire day. And it did rain…a lot. I txted her earlier in the day to see if she had ordered a tent, so I could prepare myself with my routine for the day and photography needs. She then proceeded to tell me, No. *internal GASP* happened. Actually, I am pretty sure it was an out loud, “my Bride is insane” verbalization as I was driving towards her wedding in the pouring rain. She told me it would ruin her vision to have a tent and she was trusting her gut! I seriously thought she had lost it and was immediately glad that I had my huge umbrellas and several pairs of shoes packed.

It rained all through her getting ready and stopped in time to get all the Birdal Party shots done before the ceremony….and then it rained again. Then stopped just before the ceremony and stayed dry with clouds looming all around all the way up until the cake cutting. Libby apparently has some connection with the weather Gods. And I must say that I am in awe and glad. When it did rain it was towards the second half of the reception, so the main events had happened. All of the older guests proceeded to leave and say their goodbyes. And then the raging dancing in the rain party happened. It was awesome and so fun to photograph. Light warm summer drizzle (occasional downpours) and a crowd of extremely good dancers, drinks and best friends. It was epic.
