











A couple of weeks ago I whisked my kiddos away to a place I loved as a child, Colonial Williamsburg, Va. This place is so engrained in my heart that my very own home is based off of this quaint historic little town. It is a fully functioning historically correct town. The people dress and work as if time has never moved forward creating the most perfect real environment for children to step into History and learn just how the world functioned years before they arrived.

My Bean has started a new little hobby (gone good). She has always loved to bake…cookies, cupcakes, cakes and much more…but recently she has had the itch to take them a step further. I generally take my baked goods a bit far, but I never thought a 13 year old would find the same allure in baked goods with a curb appeal. She has. So I signed her up for some cake decorating classes to get her feet wet with the basics of how to use all the tools and of course, being super eager she took all the goodies for a test run (classes don’t start until March). This is her first time with frosting tips, dying her own fondant, and using fondant molds…I was quite impressed and loved practicing a bit of editorial photography on her little adventure. Who knew that those hours of watching
