When this lovely family unloaded after their trip down 95 to see me, Little Miss was quite quiet and shy. We began wandering about the grounds looking for ideal spots for Mom’s maternity images, sneaking in family images here and there. Meanwhile I chattered about princesses, horses, flowers and anything else I could dream up to get an almost 3 year old girl to interact with me. Instead she remained quiet and continued to study me with her marble-esque brown eyes. An hour later the sun began to settle into the perfect spot just above one of my favorite fields. So a quick outfit change and we headed toward the thigh high grass. The entire walk over I was hoping this dainty little princess would not cry over the itchy tall grass or worry about the miniature world of insects that wanders amongst the ground. Next thing I knew Dad had swooped her up and carried her through the field and plopped her down on the feedsack quilt I had prepared for them, clearly thinking as I was.
And then…she wandered off into the field. The tips of the grass graced her upper arms it was so tall and yet she embraced it like she wandered through them daily. Once she found her place in the field it then took coaxing and bribing just to get her to sit with Mom and Dad for the remainder of the family images. Instead she wanted to jump, hide and shwoosh her arms around the tops of the grass as it swayed in the wind.
A girl after my own heart…a field lover.
Thank you to their friends that referred me to them. It was a treasure to photograph little miss, mama (baby in belly) and dad! I look forward to meeting the new addition soon.
Little Miss, you can come play in a field with me any day!
