Featured . Wedding Press

Yesterday was an amazing day for me. I knew these two features were in the works, but I didn’t know when. I woke up and had a wonderful surprise from Bayside Bride who featured Kate & JP’s The Oaks wedding in Eastern Shore Maryland and then anxiously awaited the 3pm release of Megan & Brandon’s Richmond Mankin Mansion wedding on Style Me Pretty. Two features in ONE day! Needless to say the social media networks were on fire and I was whooped by the end of the day. Be sure to take a peek at them…and leave these wonderful couples and host blogs a little comment love for all of their hard work!

I am Thankful for . John E. Hansen . RIP . 11.22.11

Today, Thanksgiving 2011, I am Thankful for the gift of life, love and happiness and for having the great honor of knowing and being the Grand Daughter of John Edward Hansen. Sadly my Gramps left our world for his next greatest adventure into the great unknown on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.

He was a . Husband . Father . Grandfather . Great Grandfather . Veteran . Leader . Pilot . Artist .
Athlete . Builder . Discoverer . Record Breaker . Poet . Writer . Investor . Tutor . Student . Captain .
Fisherman . Friend . and I am sure many more things I have neglected since he spent his life never sitting still…and always on the lookout for another new part of life to learn, love and tackle.

I spent my years growing up knowing him and always holding him high up on a pedestal. He was how I wanted to my life to be. And now after spending my last moments with him, hearing his final words to me “I love you…have a wonderful life”, I am now dedicated to continuing his legacy, his traditions and his wish to me. A new perspective has been placed upon me, and for that I am eternally thankful to him, and wish him nothing less than his worldly dreams on his new adventure he has begun.

Much love to you Gramps,

Tori (aka Marta)

The image below is of him in 2007 and his namesake Luke Edward, my youngest son.

serenade . Leesburg Virginia Wedding Photographer

I wish I had known this most amazing thing was going to happen in this most amazing field. I would have loved to have a plan and bigger team with me to capture this. But lucky for me, my camera has video. So I did a little double duty. I was out taking portraits of this adorable couple just an hour before their wedding, and then a guitar appears and a song begins to be sung. Tears start flowing and I am recording and shooting all at the same time.

This is so far the most romantic, honest moment I have witnessed at a wedding yet. Enjoy…and please forgive the rough video and sound…like I said…this was an on the whim recording :)
