delight | Virginia DC Engagement & Couple Photographer

Last week I had the pleasure to work with Korie & Joel of Korie Lynn Photography. I was in need of couples for a mentoring session I had to teach and Korie was kind enough to offer herself and her husband up for the session. She promised they were fun on the other side of the camera…and were they EVER! Normally for my engagement sessions we do 2-3 outfit changes and change of locations and such, but this day was insanely hot and humid. We opted to just stick to the one outfit and tackle the location as efficiently as possible to get us out of the heat.

Korie & Joel were amazing. It is obviously they are still newlyweds, yet able to giggle, laugh and be goofy too. Enjoy the images from their session. Thank you both again for being amazing!

Location, location, location… | Destination Wedding Photographer

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting a stunning wedding with Nicole Cassano in Pittsburg, PA and Youngstown, Ohio. Seems a bit odd to be shooting in two states…but they are just a hop and a skip away from each other and the locations were well worth the drives. Not only did we shoot in 2 states, but we shot in 5 different locations. Groom getting ready, Bride getting ready, Ceremony, portraits in Botanical Gardens in Ohio and then finally Strambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown for the second half of the portraits and the Reception.

Not only was this wedding well traveled, but it was BIG. One of the biggest weddings I have had the chance to photograph. Once I heard the guest count I wanted to have Nicole bring on several more photographers. Just shy of 400 guest and a Bridal party of 28, we had our work cut out for us!

Sadly we encountered a bit of rain and about 90% humidity after the rain at the Gardens, so we only spent about 15 minutes there, but we made up for it at the Auditorium which pretty much took my breath away. Candace (the Bride) was a dream bride to photograph and allowed us to drag her and her gown all over the place. Here is a peak at my view of the day. Timeless | Virginia Wedding Photographer

Having the chance to photograph a Bride & Groom all dressed up and ready to go WITHOUT the hectic rush of a typical wedding day is a dream come true! This lovely couple didn’t have a wedding photographer and one day realized they just had to have some portraits of them together in their timeless wedding attire. I was honestly so excited to get a chance to just work with a couple and not have 8+ bridal party attendants staring at me wondering when I was going to be done!

Of course my little pea brain was spinning with ideas of doing this, funny stuff like that, creative posing like this, etc. Then I received a couple of snap shots from their wedding day and chucked all that out the door. Not that they might not have been willing, or I couldn’t have pulled it off. But quite honestly in my opinion their look deserved nothing more than perfect timeless images. Nothing distracting us from her stunning features, and his subtle vintage flair.
